These days, kids really can't live without a tuition teacher, or in fact, it is the parents who can't live without one. Singapore parents are very kiasu, they think that their kids will lose out to others if they don't have tuition... I had my 1st tuition in pri 2, my bro had his first in K2. And my last tuition was when I was in JC. So I'm 1 of them who can't live without a tuition teacher. Haha... And now that I'm in uni, I myself become a tuition teacher as well! LOL
This morning I went Yishun for tuition. After the lesson, the mother told me that his son likes my way of teaching. And that really made my day. =)
I'm glad that I am not just a "tutor" to the kids but also a mentor and friend to them. During our 1st lesson, this boy, christopher, had a bit of an attitude. But now, he does all his hw, talks to me about what books he read and what games he likes to play and also proudly show me his drawings. The 2 sisters, Catherine & Cynthia likes to stick wif me and always ask me what stickers I will be giving them the next lesson. Cynthia also said that I'm pretty(sweet!) =). My another student, Iffah, even shared with me who were her secret admirer & read her diary to me. Clever Ilijah loves to tell me about the stuff he learnt in the science encyclopaedia.
These kids are so adorable that I can't bear to give up any of them when the school reopens. I learnt a lot as I teach them, get to brush up my own grammar (for this blog, I dun care abt it though), vocab and even multipication tables. And I truly enjoyed teaching them. =)
