The Last Lecture
I finally watched the youtube video "The Last Lecture" by Prof Randy Pausch yesterday. He discovered that he was in the last stage of cancer when he accepted the invitation to conduct this talk about "The Last Lecture". He just died recently but his talk inspired millions of ppl all around the world including me.
The 1 hr plus lecture taught me many things. He's really humourous. To prove tat he's still "healthy", he even did push-ups on the stage! Then, he talked about his inordinary childhood dreams and how he achieved them one by one. He also mentioned that even his life was going to end soon, he will still live it to the fullest. And some of his quotes really inspired me:
"If you are pissed off with somebody or angry with them, you just haven't given them enough time.... Just give them a little more time and you can see the good side of them."
"Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things. If you can't break through it, it only means that you don't want that thing badly enough."
Tat reminds me of a story tat I've read about when I was in sec sch. It's the famous story called "The Last Lesson". Because Germany invaded the country, schools can no longer teach French. And the story was about the little boy's last French lesson. The boy started to regret y didn't he paid attention to the French lesson in the past, its very touching.
Another 1 was the Jap drama "1 litres of tears" which was based on a true story. Even the 18 yr old girl found out that she got an incurable disease, she still faced the reality bravely. From the 1st epi till the last epi, I cried throughout. Parts like her own beloved younger bro feeling disgraced of her sichkness and how he regret his actions was so saddening!
So all these taught us to live our life to the fullest and always look on the bright side!
